I’m Char Johnson — Grief Coach, Certified Therapeutic Art Coach, and mother forever shaped by the loss of my son, Ramere Johnson, Sr., to a fentanyl overdose in 2017.
That day shattered me. What followed was confusion, silence, judgment, and emotional chaos. I searched for a safe space, one that could hold my pain without trying to fix it or brush it under the rug.
I didn’t need clichés. I needed connection. I needed someone who had walked through this kind of loss, the kind society doesn’t talk about.
The kind that’s often stigmatized or misunderstood.
When I couldn’t find her… I became her.
My mission is to help grieving mothers navigate their journey without shame. I want to show you how to grieve in a healthy way, not by avoiding the pain, but by moving with it, gently and honestly.
Too often, we’re told to “be strong,” to “get over it,” or to “just keep going.” But no one tells us how to do that, especially when the grief is complicated, quiet, and laced with guilt or blame.
Through my Planted in Peace™ Workbook, creative healing sessions, and our Keep On Living Grief Circle, I help you reconnect with yourself. You’ll explore gentle routines like breathwork, journaling, plant therapy, and movement to help regulate your emotions, reclaim your peace, and find your way forward.
This work isn’t about rushing your healing. It’s about supporting your sustainable transformation: from surviving to slowly, steadily, thriving again. It’s about giving you the tools I never had, so you never feel alone in the darkness.
I want grieving mothers to feel seen, supported, and most of all… hopeful.
Because no matter how deep the loss, your life is still worth living.
And healing is still possible.
